Tom has over ten years of experience as an OSHA-certified instructor. He has taught over 700 students in training programs including OSHA 10-Hour Training for General Industry, OSHA 30-Hour Training for General Industry, Forklift Certification through The National Safety Council, and customized trainings for numerous areas of safety protocols and practices.

With so many OSHA trainers in the field, what makes Tom unique? Very simply, his experience and how that impacts his approach. Prior to his training career, Tom worked in production and logistics at organizations ranging from UPS to Daimler-Chrysler to Rush Medical Center. So his approach to training front-line team members is one of truly having been in their shoes – or their steel-toed boots as the case may be. And long before his time at those well-known organizations, Tom worked alongside his dad who installed siding and windows for a profession. That is where Tom learned the challenges and struggles of small businesses (and a few “what-not-to-do” safety examples he still uses in his trainings today!) It is that real-world experience at organizations large and small that allows Tom to relate to the women and men he trains in a way few others can.
